Standing at his kitchen counter, “James” stared at the pill he was about to take. It was the first physical step in a battle for his life…but was he ready? Was he strong enough to fight the cancer and believe God there would be no side effects?
God, how am I going to do this? he prayed silently. I don’t know if I have the strength and the courage for it.
At that very moment, the phone rang.
“Hello, this is Kenneth Copeland Ministries. We’re just calling to tell you that we appreciate you and we’d like to see if there is anything we can agree with you about in prayer.”
For James, the voice on the other end of the phone was an answer to prayer. God had provided the support he desperately needed at the exact time he needed it — and he is not alone! Each month, Kenneth Copeland Ministries’ U.S. office receives more than 60,000 incoming calls and makes more than 47,000 outgoing calls. Similar ministry calls also take place monthly at each of the five international offices located in Australia, Canada, South Africa, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
Harrill says, “We deal with everything from, ‘Please pray for me to sleep through the night,’ to ‘We’re believing for this salvation in our family,’ to someone who is considering suicide.”
The outbound calls serve as support to Kenneth Copeland Ministries’ Partners and Friends, calling every Partner once a year, calling each person new to the ministry, and calling those living in areas affected by natural disasters.
These dedicated ministers take their role as point-of-contact very seriously.
“All the time, people say, ‘I can’t believe you just called to say hello and tell us you appreciate us and you don’t want anything,’” says Harrill. “Everything we do is for our Partners and Friends. We’re passionate about the vision of Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, not just when we’re on the phones, but in our prayer times. We have a wonderful time of prayer each day lifting our Partners and Friends before the Father.”
